PRESIDENT BUHARI REJOICES WITH GOVERNOR OF ONDO STATE OVER RE-ELECTION
President Muhammadu Buhari has rejoiced with Rotimi Akeredolu on his re-election as Governor of Ondo State for another four-year term.
The President lauded the Governor’s victory at the election which was held on Saturday, October 10, 2020. The President also gave kudos to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for organizing credible, free and fair election, and to security agencies which ensured that orderliness was enthroned and maintained.
Akeredolu was re-elected as Governor of Ondo State on the back of a campaign in which he promised to provide composed and focused leadership marked by economic growth and improved security for people in the state. He recorded 178,854 votes.
His closest challenger, the Peoples Democratic Party’s Eyitayo Jegede, recorded 141,083 votes.
