AEDC PROMOTES 547 STAFF

Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, AEDC, has announced the promotion of 547 employees and approved step increments for 579 others. The announcement followed the conclusion of the company’s 2025 Performance Appraisal Exercise.

According to AEDC, the promotions and increments are part of its commitment to rewarding excellence, recognizing performance, and building one of Africa’s most admired workplaces.

The company said the move reflects its deliberate investment in people as it works to transform into a customer-focused, high-performing electricity distribution company with global standards and Pan-African ambitions.

AEDC explained that the employees recognized demonstrated exceptional commitment, professionalism, and outstanding performance in advancing the company’s strategic objectives. The approvals were made by company management.

Speaking on the development, AEDC Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Chijioke Okwuokenye, described it as a significant milestone in the company’s people transformation journey. He said employees remain the company’s greatest asset.

Mr. Okwuokenye stated that AEDC is building an organization where excellence is recognized, talent is nurtured, and hard work creates opportunities for growth. He added that the company is creating a workplace driven by merit, learning, innovation and collaboration.

AEDC also encouraged employees who were not promoted in this cycle to remain committed. The company said its performance management process is designed to support continuous growth and future advancement opportunities.

As AEDC strengthens operations and customer service, it says it remains committed to investing in its workforce, fostering an inclusive and high-performance culture, and positioning itself as an employer of choice in Nigeria’s power sector and a respected Pan-African distribution company.
