The Federal Government and the National Assembly have reiterated their commitment to supporting complementary roles for electricity regulators as Nigeria transitions to a multi-tier electricity market. They made the pledge at a workshop in Abuja on legal, policy and regulatory harmonisation for the decentralisation of the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry.

The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, FCCPC, has resumed implementation of the Digital, Electronic, Online and Non-Traditional Consumer Lending Regulations, 2025. The decision follows a Federal High Court ruling in Lagos on Monday, July 20, 2026, which dismissed a suit challenging the Regulations.
