
The Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, Rtd, has accepted his appointment as Secretary I of the APC Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 elections.
In a statement released in Abuja on August 24th, 2026, General Musa thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC leadership for the trust placed in him.
He described the appointment as a call to higher service and assured the party of his full dedication to delivering its campaign mandate with diligence and focus.
The Minister stressed that despite the new political assignment, his primary constitutional duty remains unchanged.
According to him, safeguarding Nigeria’s territorial integrity and protecting the lives and property of citizens is still his top priority.
General Musa said national security remains the highest imperative, and that ongoing military operations, reforms, and inter-agency collaboration will continue with increased vigour.
He reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to supporting President Tinubu’s vision for a safe and prosperous Nigeria.
The Minister also called on APC members and all Nigerians to remain united behind the administration, expressing confidence that the party will succeed at the polls while delivering strong governance and security.
