ABUJA — The Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, says power supply has been affected in parts of the North-West after a tower collapsed.
TCN said the 330kV Kainji to Birnin Kebbi line tripped on Monday night, 7 September. On Tuesday, workers found that Tower 367 fell due to heavy wind and rain.
The company has declared a force majeure on the line. That means the damage was caused by natural reasons beyond its control.
TCN said teams are already moving to the site to repair the tower.
For now, electricity to Sokoto is being supplied through another route from Kaduna.
TCN apologised to customers and promised to restore full supply as soon as possible.
