UZOKA-ANITE TO UNVEIL NIGERIA’S ROADMAP TO INVESTMENT-GRADE RATING BY 2030

ABUJA, Nigeria (AP) — The Minister of State for Budget and Economic Planning, Doris Uzoka-Anite, will present Nigeria’s plan to achieve an investment-grade sovereign credit rating by 2030.

 

‎Uzoka-Anite will deliver the keynote address at DataPro’s 6th International Rating Webinar.

 

‎She will speak on the theme, “Achieving Investment Grade Rating by 2030: The Roadmap for Nigeria.”

 

‎According to DataPro, the minister will outline the policy, institutional and economic reforms needed to improve Nigeria’s credit profile, boost investor confidence and increase access to capital.

 

The virtual event will bring together experts from government, international development institutions, academia and the credit-rating industry.

 

‎Other speakers include Oluwakemi Babalogbon, executive director for risk management at the Ministry of Finance Incorporated; Misheck Mutize, lead expert for credit rating agencies at the African Peer Review Mechanism; Daniel Cash, founder of the Credit Rating Research Initiative; Kai Gehring, professor of political economy at the University of Bern; and Torsten Schmidt, head of macroeconomics and public finance research at RWI-Essen.

 

The discussions will focus on sovereign credibility, governance, macroeconomic policy, fiscal management and public-sector reforms and their impact on Nigeria’s long-term economic outlook.

 

DataPro said the webinar will give stakeholders insight into steps needed to strengthen Nigeria’s creditworthiness and support a sustainable investment environment.

 

The event will also examine how fiscal and structural reforms can support the Federal Government’s plan to grow Nigeria’s economy to $1 trillion by 2030.
