President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has launched five flagship Federal Government programmes aimed at reducing poverty, strengthening human capital development and improving community resilience as part of efforts to achieve a one-trillion-dollar economy by 2030.

The programmes, unveiled in Abuja, include the Nigeria Community Action for Resilience and Economic Stimulus Additional Financing (NG-CARES), Solutions for Internally Displaced Persons and Host Communities Project (SOLID), and the Human Capital Opportunities for Prosperity and Equity (HOPE) initiative, comprising HOPE Governance, HOPE Primary Health Care and HOPE Education.

Represented by the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, President Tinubu said the benefits of the administration’s economic reforms must be felt in every Nigerian household, not reflected only in national statistics. He added that the country’s economic growth and rising investor confidence demonstrate that the reforms are beginning to yield positive results.

In addition, the President said the five programmes form a coordinated national strategy designed to tackle poverty, improve service delivery and promote sustainable development through collaboration among the federal, state and local governments. He noted that the initiative is focused on creating real opportunities and improving the quality of life in communities across the country.

President Tinubu further called on state governments and other stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of the programmes. He stressed that the success of NG-CARES, HOPE and SOLID depends on strong partnerships, sustained reforms and active community participation to deliver meaningful benefits to Nigerians.
