
The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) has confirmed seven additional insurance companies as compliant with the minimum capital requirements under the Nigeria Insurance Industry Reform Act (NIIRA) 2025 and applicable insurance laws and guidelines.
The companies are emPLE General Insurance Limited, emPLE Life Assurance Limited, Sovereign Trust Insurance Plc, Tangerine Life Insurance Limited, Alliance & General Insurance Plc, Guinea Insurance Plc and Regency Alliance Insurance Plc.
In a notice issued to the public on Thursday, August 13, 2026, NAICOM said the latest verification brings the number of insurance companies confirmed as compliant with the minimum capital requirements to 48, alongside two reinsurance companies.
The Commission said the companies were verified to have met the minimum capital requirements stipulated under NIIRA 2025 and other applicable laws and guidelines issued by the regulator.
NAICOM added that the latest confirmation brings the Nigerian insurance industry’s recapitalisation exercise to a successful conclusion.
