AFRICAN MEDIA GLOBE CONDEMNS XENOPHOBIC VIOLENCE IN SOUTH AFRICA

The African Media Globe has expressed grave concern over the recurring xenophobic violence in South Africa and called on the government to take immediate steps to protect African migrants and foreign nationals. The Pan-African media and advocacy platform said the attacks threaten the lives, dignity, and livelihoods of innocent African citizens and undermine the spirit of solidarity across the continent.
In a statement signed by Secretary General Charles Sylvanus Boye, the group strongly condemned the recent acts of violence and intimidation against other African nationals. It stressed that no African should feel unsafe or unwelcome in another African country, warning that such incidents erode the unity on which the continent was built.

The platform urged the African Union, regional bodies, civil society organizations, and African leaders to urgently intervene before more lives are lost. It warned that silence and inaction would only embolden further violence and division, at a time when the continent is pushing for economic integration and free movement under the African Continental Free Trade Area.

The African Media Globe called on all Africans to reject hate, discrimination, and national divisions, and to embrace peaceful coexistence and mutual respect. It expressed solidarity with victims, and demanded justice, accountability, and lasting solutions to prevent future occurrences.
