The Association of Proprietors of Private Media Establishments of Nigeria (APPMEN) has sought a strategic partnership with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) ahead of the 2026 ASO APPMEN/Content Creators Conference.

The association made the move during a courtesy visit to the headquarters of the NHRC in Abuja, where its leadership met with the Commission’s management to explore areas of collaboration.

‎The APPMEN delegation was led by its National Coordinator, Chief Precious C. Enebuse, while the Executive Secretary of the NHRC, Chief Dr. Anthony Okechukwu Ojukwu, OFR, SAN, received the team.

‎According to APPMEN, the visit was aimed at formally introducing the association’s leadership to the Commission and strengthening institutional ties ahead of the 2026 conference.

The association said it hopes to partner with the NHRC in promoting human rights awareness, responsible media practice and greater engagement with content creators.

‎The proposed collaboration is also expected to support discussions on media ethics, digital rights and the role of content creators in advancing democracy and protecting fundamental human rights.

Both organisations expressed optimism that stronger cooperation would contribute to the success of the 2026 ASO APPMEN/Content Creators Conference and foster closer engagement between the media and the human rights community.
