APPMEN TO HOST 2026 MEDIA CONFERENCE IN ABUJA, SEEKS TO REPOSITION PRIVATE MEDIA FOR NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

The Association of Proprietors of Private Media Establishments of Nigeria, APPMEN, will hold its 2026 1-Day Conference on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at the AIG Aishatu Abubakar Baju Hall, Beside TETFUND Headquarters, Maitama, Abuja. The event will bring together media owners, policymakers, government officials, corporate partners, and digital content creators.

Under the theme “APPMEN: Voice, Vision, Purpose,” the conference is designed to reposition Nigeria’s private media and digital content ecosystem as a strategic force for national development, job creation, responsible storytelling, and economic growth.

APPMEN says that in today’s fast-paced digital age, structure, training, and partnerships are what turn individual voices into strong media institutions. The conference will gather platform owners, audience builders, and policy makers to shape Nigeria’s national narrative.

The morning session will be a high-level capacity and policy forum. It will feature masterclass training by legal experts, media scholars, and industry practitioners. There will also be a panel discussion on “The Future of Nigerian Media — Policy, Platforms, and Purpose,” an interactive Q&A, stakeholder commitments, and the release of a communiqué.

The evening session is a Gala Night and Cocktail dedicated to celebrating excellence and building partnerships. Activities include an investiture ceremony, awards for credible and patriotic Nigerians, unveiling of ambassadors for “The Leadership We Want” Campaign, and the launch of the maiden edition of APPMEN Magazine.

APPMEN is calling on the Federal Government, State Governments, regulatory bodies, corporate organizations, and development agencies to partner with the association. Sponsorship will fund creator training, legal aid, safety programs, and platforms to amplify Nigerian stories globally.

APPMEN is the umbrella body for owners and operators of private media platforms in Nigeria.
