BRITISH NATIONAL WANTED BY NIGERIAN POLICE DENIES COUP ALLEGATIONS,ECONOMY.
In the meantime, a British national, Andrew Wynne, declared wanted by the Nigeria Police Force for allegedly plotting to overthrow President Bola Tinubu’s government, has denied any wrongdoing.
In an interview on Monday, Wynne stated that he is not on the run and is prepared to cooperate fully with Nigerian authorities. He strongly refuted the accusations against him, which include building sleeper cells to destabilize the government.
Wynne’s Nigerian wife also spoke claiming her husband is being falsely accused. She suggested that the real reason behind the allegations is a financial dispute with a Nigerian debtor who is attempting to expel Wynne from the country to avoid repaying a debt. She dismissed the accusations of plotting a coup as baseless and motivated by ulterior motives.
Earlier on Monday, the Force spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, accused Wynne of orchestrating a plot to cause chaos and overthrow the government. Adejobi claimed that Wynne had established a network of sleeper cells aimed at destabilizing Nigeria.
