Afrobeats star Davido has announced a two-month suspension of his music career to actively campaign for the re-election of his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, ahead of the 2026 governorship election.
The Grammy-nominated artiste made the disclosure   in Ede, Osun State, during the inauguration of the Imole Youth Campaign Mobilisation Team. 
He said the decision was aimed at strengthening grassroots political mobilisation in support of the governor’s second-term bid.
Addressing members of the committee, which he chairs, Davido said he was committing his time and influence to ensure electoral victory.
