EFCC DECLINES TO DISCLOSE NAMES OF ALLEGED TERRORISM SPONSORS

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission says it is not authorized to release the names of individuals allegedly sponsoring terrorism in Nigeria.

‎The Commission’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, made this known at the monthly National Joint Security Press Briefing held at the National Orientation Agency headquarters in Abuja. He explained that the Terrorism Financing Act of 2022 only empowers the EFCC to block funds linked to terrorist activities, not to reveal the identities of suspects.
