ELON MUSK, INVESTORS BID $100BN TO BUY CHATGPT MAKER OPENAI

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has offered $97.4bn dollars to acquire OpenAI, the developer of ChatGPT, to restore its original non-profit mission.

According to a media report the offer aims to purchase all of OpenAI’s assets and refocus the organization on its founding principles.

Tensions between Musk and co-founder Sam Altman have escalated into a legal dispute over the company’s transition into a for-profit entity under Altman’s leadership.

Musk, who bought Twitter in 2022 for $44bn dollars and rebranded it as X, has long criticized OpenAI’s transition into a for-profit entity, arguing that its current direction contradicts its founding vision of an open and ethical approach to artificial intelligence.
