FEDERAL GOVERNMENT CANCELS INDEPENDENCE PARADE
As Nigeria prepares to celebrates its 65th independence, Nigerians have been urged to reflect on shared responsibility to build a greater nation.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume made this known at a conference to commemorate Nigeria’s 65th independence anniversary.
He noted that while the Government is playing its part citizens too must play theirs and put aside divisions and work together to achieve a Nigeria where opportunity is greater.
Speaking on several achievements made over the years in every sector, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris says the current administration is committed to not leaving anyone or sector behind.
The Minister also hinted that Presidents Bola Amed Tinubu is expected to address the nation on Wednesday,1st October as part of the activities to celebrate.
He also noted that as directed by the president, this year’s celebration will be low key as the official independence parade for October first has been cancelled.
