FEDERAL GOVERNMENT CHARGES MOBILE NETWORK OPERATORS TO FIX NETWORK ISSUES OR FACE SANCTIONS
The Federal Government has directed Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) across the country to address all network challenges and improve service quality, saying it has put in place the necessary conditions to enhance telecom service delivery.
The government warned that failure of the MNOs to deliver within the next few months would be met with regulatory sanctions from the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC.
The Minister of Communications, Innovations and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani specifically urged major network providers to take urgent steps to improve service qualities across homes, offices and in the rural areas.
Dr. Tijani in a statement issued in Abuja said the call became imperative considering the multidimensional steps the present administration had taken in the past three years to put the telecommunications sector on sound footing and ensure that the sector meets the yearnings and expectations of Nigerians.
