FEDERAL GOVERNMENT INAUGURATES BOARD OF OIL AND GAS FREE ZONES OGFZA

The Federal Government has inaugurated the Governing Board of the Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority (OGFZA), with Mrs. Lydia Kalat Musa as Chairman. The board is expected to contribute to Nigeria’s economic growth, with a target of double-digit growth by 2030.

Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, says the board’s performance will be judged by tangible outcomes, such as projects delivered and investments attracted. She charges the board to bring clarity, discipline, and innovation to the system, and ensure government incentives translate into economic value.

The OGFZA’s mandate includes licensing and regulation, infrastructure provision, and coordination of public and private sector actors. Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, Senator John Owan Enoh, says the board’s inauguration is a renewed commitment to Nigeria’s industrial transformation, and urges the board to focus on productivity, value creation, and export-led growth.

OGFZA Chairman, Mrs. Lydia Kalat Musa, pledges to reposition the authority as a partner of choice for investors, anchored on excellence, accountability, and national development. The board is expected to drive economic growth and development in Nigeria.
