FEDERAL GOVERNMENT PUSHES TOURISM AS KEY TO ECONOMIC DIVERSIFICATION IN NIGERIA
The Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, has commended participants at the National Hospitality and Tourism Stakeholders’ Forum in Abuja, for repositioning Nigeria’s tourism sector as a driver of economic growth and job creation.
The event was convened by Director-General of the Nigeria Tourism Development Authority, Ola Awakani, with the aim of strengthening collaboration across the sector.
Speaking at the close of the forum, Musawa praised the initiative, noting that a clear roadmap had emerged linking culture, entertainment, and tourism to employment and national development.
She emphasized that sustained collaboration, public-private partnerships, and consistent follow-up would be essential to achieving meaningful results.
The Minister also reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to position tourism as a central pillar of diversification, explaining that integrating previously fragmented sectors into a unified ecosystem would strengthen Nigeria’s cultural identity on the world stage.
