Former U.S. president Bill Clinton is in a Washington hospital for testing and observation after developing a fever.

According to his deputy chief of staff Angel Ureña via X, he remains in good spirits and deeply appreciates the excellent care he is receiving.

He says Clinton, age seventy eight, is being treated at the Georgetown University Medical Center.

According to reports, the situation is not acute and that the former president is expected to improve soon.

Clinton, a Democrat, served as the forty-second President of the United States from 1993 to 2001.

His presidency was overshadowed by the Lewinsky sex scandal and the subsequent impeachment proceedings, which he survived politically.
