GOVERNMENT TO REVITALISE TEXTILE INDUSTRY
The Federal Government has reiterated its commitment to revitalizing Nigeria’s textile industry, recognizing its strategic importance for job creation, economic diversification, and sustainable development.
Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume made this known during a courtesy visit by delegates of the Cotton, Textile, and Garment Development Forum.
Sen. Akume emphasized the crucial role of the textile industry in transforming Nigeria’s economy and fostering viable economic growth.
He noted that the administration has constituted a board to ensure the revitalization of the industry, which will create job opportunities and promote industrialization.
The Coordinator of the Cotton, Textile, and Garment Development Forum, Chief Dr. Anibe Achimugu noted that the CTG value chain offers opportunities for inclusive economic growth, creating two millions jobs and boosting of non-oil exports.
In a release signed by the director of information and public relations,Segun Imohsien,The Federal Government’s commitment to revitalizing the textile industry is aimed at promoting economic growth and development.
