The Association for Behavioral Analysis in Nigeria, ABAN, in collaboration with Special Education Needs and Consults Limited, SENCO, has organized a Walk for Inclusion in Abuja as part of activities marking World Autism Awareness Month.
Speaking at the event, the Founder of SENCO and Northern Coordinator of ABAN, Manji Danjuma, called on the government to implement effective policies that support inclusive education for children with autism.
He emphasized that inclusion is not a privilege but a fundamental right, adding that education must be made affordable and accessible to children with special needs across the country.

Also speaking, a parent of a child with autism, Hauwa Alfa, urged the government to strengthen support for inclusion by creating broader platforms for awareness and increasing funding for special needs education.

She added that Nigerians should recognize that children with developmental differences are not less capable, but are valuable and important members of society.
