The House of Representatives has announced plans to commence the 2025 budget defence session with Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) effectively from today.

Reports from the exercise are expected to be harmonised on January 22 while the Appropriations Committee’s report would be laid at plenary on January 31st.

The Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriations, Hon. Abubakar Bichi from Kano state disclosed this in an interview with journalists after the inaugural meeting of the panel on Monday.

Recall that President Bola Tinubu had presented the 2025 budget of forty nine point seven four trillion naira Appropriation before a joint session of the National Assembly on December 18, 2024.

The committee’s chairman however assured that his Panel as well other standing committees would be thorough with the budget defence in the interest of Nigerians.
