HOUSE OF REPS COMMITTEE ON PETROLEUM RESOURCES SAYS PETROL IS NOW AVAILABLE 

The House of Representatives Committees on Petroleum Resources, Downstream and midstream have revealed findings on the availability of petrol products which have since arrived the country.

The Committees however added that the supply and distribution to marketers which was disrupted due to some logistics challenges have been addressed, pledging that the queues at the Filling Stations will disappear in matter of days. 

The downstream and midstream committees led by Hon. Ikenga Ugochinyere and Hon. Odianosen Okojie respectively, stated this at a press conference focusing on PMS scarcity.

Rep. Ugochinyere in his submission, stated that in the last few days committees have jointly reached out to the stakeholders in the distribution value chain, with a view to ascertaining the cause of the resurgence of the fuel queues across the country. 

According to him, investigations found out that there is availability of petrol products, at least, about 1.5 billion litres that can last for 30 days. 

He also assured that the Committees which oversights activities in the Downstream and Midstream petroleum sectors, have resolved to collaborate with the NNPCL, NMDPRA, PETROAN, NARTO and other key stakeholders in the distribution chain, towards finding a sustainable solution in forestalling future occurrence.
