Britain’s King Charles has told the United States Congress that the partnership between the UK and US is more important than ever. In a historic address to lawmakers, the King stressed that global challenges today are too great for any one nation to bear alone.

During his speech, King Charles expressed the United Kingdom’s “highest regard and friendship” for the United States. He also spoke of the long shared history between both nations, highlighting the deep ties that bind them.

 Earlier in the day, the King and Queen Camilla met US President Donald Trump in the Oval Office. The meeting took place on the second day of the royal couple’s state visit to the United States.

Meanwhile,President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump welcomed the King and Queen at the White House in a ceremony full of pomp and pageantry.
