Labour Leaders Rally in Support of NLC President Ajaero
Labour leaders have gathered at the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) headquarters in Abuja to show solidarity with NLC President, Comrade Joe Ajaero.
Ajaero has been summoned by the Police Force on allegations of terrorism financing, among other charges.
Joe Ajaero, has been summoned by the police related to charges of criminal conspiracy, terrorism financing, treasonable felony, subversion, and cybercrime. The summons comes 11 days after an invitation by the Intelligence Response Team (IRT).
Meanwhile, the Trade Union Congress (TUC) in the United Kingdom has urged the British government to intervene and stop what it described as the violent repression and intimidation of trade unions in Nigeria.
Human rights activist and lawyer Femi Falana, explained that Ajaero could not respond to the police summons on August 20. The situation continues to draw attention and concern from various groups both within and outside Nigeria.
