Still in the news, the House of Representatives has urged the security agencies to free the 300 women kidnapped in Borno state.
This was the resolution of a motion under matters of urgent National importance moved by Rep. Zainab Gimba from Borno state.
According to her, this is the second largest abduction after the Chibok Girls adoption by Boko Haram in April 2014
Ruling on the matter, Deputy Speaker, Benjamin Kalu who presided over Thursday’s plenary, said the incident was a sad one and called on security agencies to as a matter of urgency rescue the abducted women.
The motion was therefore referred to the Committee on Defence and NEMA for further Legislative action.
