NCAA CLARIFIES U.S BAN ON NIGERIAN AIRLINES.

Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has clarified the circumstances surrounding reports of a U.S. ban on Nigerian airlines.

In a statement issued on Monday, NCAA’s Acting Director General, Capt. Chris Najomo, explained that the delisting of Nigerian airlines from the U.S. was not due to safety or security deficiencies.

Capt. Najomo noted that Nigeria, like other countries, must meet the International Aviation Safety Assessment (IASA) Programme requirements to attain Category 1 status, which allows Nigerian airlines to operate in the U.S.

Najomo also clarified that Nigeria has successfully passed ICAO Safety and Security Audits, with no significant safety or security concerns identified. The NCAA urged the public to understand that the delisting was a routine administrative action, not a reflection of Nigeria’s aviation safety standards.
