The Nigerian Export Promotion Council, NEPC, said Nigeria’s non-oil exports reached a record value of approximately 6.1 billion dollars in 2025, representing an 11.5 percent increase over the previous year.
The Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Council, Mrs. Nonye Ayeni made this known t at a press briefing on Monday in Abuja.
According to Mrs. Ayeni, the NEPC intensified initiatives such as exporter training, international certifications, export clusters, digital trade partnerships, and women-focused programmes, while also expanding market access through trade fairs and missions.
Looking ahead to 2026, the NEPC projected a positive outlook for non-oil exports, with plans to deepen value addition, broaden exporter participation, strengthen solid minerals governance, and diversify markets. The Council also plans to involve the states and local governments in a more inclusive effort to diversify the economy.
The NEPC further expressed confidence that sustained implementation of existing strategies would further boost non-oil exports, create jobs, reduce poverty, and reinforce Nigeria’s position in global and intra-African trade.
