The decision was approved by the NFF’s Executive Committee based on recommendations from the Technical and Development Sub-Committee. 

Labbadia, a former German international, becomes the sixth German to lead Nigeria’s senior men’s national team, marking a new chapter for the Super Eagles.

Born in Darmstadt, Germany on 8th February 1966, Labbadia, won two caps for the German national team in his playing career.
