
PRESIDENT TINUBU ORDERS COMPREHENSIVE OVERHAUL OF NATIONAL SECURITY STRATEGIES
President Bola Tinubu has ordered a comprehensive overhaul of national security strategies to address escalating violence in several states, including Borno, Benue, Plateau, and Kwara. During a meeting with security chiefs at the State House in Abuja, Tinubu emphasized that the killing of innocent people must cease, declaring “Enough is enough”. This statement underscores his administration’s commitment to prioritizing security as a fundamental responsibility to protect lives and property.
The National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, revealed that the President has directed a new approach to tackling insecurity, focusing on collaboration with local councils, state governments, and governors. Ribadu explained that security challenges often involve community problems, requiring a more localized solution.
The President’s directive aims to ensure that security agencies work closely with these stakeholders to restore peace and security.
The meeting between President Tinubu and security chiefs lasted over two hours, during which the service chiefs briefed him on recent attacks, death tolls, and destruction of properties.
