PRESIDENT TINUBU ORDERS  PLATEAU GOVERNOR CALEB TO TACKLE COMMUNAL CRISIS FUELING TENSION IN THE STATE

President Bola Tinubu has condemned the recent attack in Plateau State that claimed over 40 lives, describing the violence as “unacceptable”. In a statement, Tinubu extended his condolences to Governor Caleb Mutfwang, the state government, and the people of Plateau, urging the governor to tackle the longstanding communal tensions fueling the crisis.

The President emphasized the need for love and unity beyond ethnic and religious lines, calling on community, spiritual, and political leaders to unite and end the cycle of retaliatory attacks.

Tinubu instructed security agencies to thoroughly investigate the crisis and identify those responsible for orchestrating the violent acts.

Tinubu stressed that addressing the root cause of the conflict is crucial, noting that the problems have lingered for over two decades.

He therefore urged Governor Mutfwang to summon the necessary political will to resolve the crisis and establish enduring peace.
