President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has marked this year’s Children’s Day with a message celebrating Nigerian children and highlighting the plight of those held in captivity. Speaking as the day coincided with Eid-el-Kabir, the President said the theme “Future Now: Promoting Inclusion for Every Nigerian Child” reminds the nation that the future is already here and must be protected.

 He recognized children excelling in school, learning trades, living with disabilities, and those who have faced loss but remain hopeful.

The President expressed concern that while many children celebrate, others in Oyo and Borno remain with criminals instead of their families. 

He assured abducted children, their parents, and teachers that they are not forgotten or abandoned. 
President Tinubu further pledged to work until every child taken from homes, schools, and communities is returned safely and those responsible are brought to justice.

To achieve this, the President has directed security agencies to intensify intelligence-led rescue operations across the country. He also ordered stronger school protection measures in high-risk areas, including updated vulnerability mapping, closer coordination between states and security commands, and improved early warning systems.
