The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has deployed over 57,000 officers across the country ahead of the Easter celebrations to strengthen security and ensure a peaceful holiday period.
The Commandant General of the NSCDC, Abubakar Audi, approved the nationwide mobilisation, which includes specialised tactical units and intelligence operatives tasked with protecting lives, property and critical national assets.
According to a statement by the Corps’ National Public Relations Officer, Afolabi Babawale, the deployment will cover all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory as part of proactive measures to address potential security threats during the festive period.
He also noted that high-traffic locations such as churches, shopping complexes, parks and recreational centres would be placed under strict surveillance, with both overt patrols and covert operatives deployed to prevent criminal activities.
