ROAD CONSTRUCTION AND SCHOOL RENOVATION IN FCT GULP 300 BILLION IN ONE YEAR
FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike says over 300 billion naira has so far been expended in the construction of rural roads and renovation of secondary schools across the six area councils of the FCT since President Bola Tinubu assumes office.
Wike who disclosed this on Wednesday while inaugurating the nine kilometers Paikon Kore– Ibwa road in Gwagwalada, stressed that the figure is an indication of the current administration’s commitment towards developing rural communities in the FCT.
According to the minister, in Gwagwalada Area council alone, ₦8.5 billion was committed to the construction of the Paikon Kore road, while ₦22 billion is being used to construct the Aguma Palace-Market road and FRCN road.
He further stated that apart from the roads construction, the Administration is renovating, five secondary schools in Gwagwalada.
The schools include School For The Gifted Gwagwalada, Government
Secondary School Gwagwalada, GSS Anagada, GSS Tunga Maje and GSS Giri adding that this will cost a total of N16.5 billion.
