SENEGAL ACCUSES MOROCCO OF SETTING ‘DANGEROUS AND PAINFUL PRECEDENT’

President of the Senegal Football Association, Abdoulaye Fall, has advocated for a careful resolution regarding the detention of 18 Senegalese fans in Morocco, sentenced to prison for misconduct during the AFCON final.
According to reports, Fall emphasizes that sports disputes should be handled within sporting bodies, not in courts, expressing concern over dangerous precedents.
The CAF’s controversial decision to award Morocco a victory in this match led to Senegal’s appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) as legal proceedings unfold.
Senegal argues that their withdrawal from the match resulted from “force majeure,” while the CAS is working to expedite the arbitration process, with a final decision expected to resolve the ongoing crisis surrounding the tournament.
