SMEDAN, EFCC TO DEEPEN COLLABORATION ON YOUTH EMPOWERMENT, CYBERSECURITY

The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria, SMEDAN, and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, are to deepen collaboration on youth empowerment, cybersecurity and responsible entrepreneurship.

The agreement was reached when SMEDAN Director-General, Charles Odii, visited EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, in Abuja.

Olukoyede said the commission is impressed with SMEDAN’s youth-focused programmes, noting that empowering young Nigerians with skills will discourage them from engaging in vices that damage the economy.

Both agencies agreed to share knowledge and jointly build capacity, including infusion of relevant skills into EFCC cybersecurity training and participation of EFCC in SMEDAN programmes on cybersecurity and ethical business practices.

SMEDAN Director-General, Charles Odii, said the partnership will support President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda by equipping youths with skills, digital knowledge and financial literacy.
