 The United Nation has pledged to support flood victims in Maiduguri, Borno State.

This comes after an overflow of the Alau Dam displaced thousands of residents, many of whom had already been affected by conflict and insecurity in the region.

In a statement, the UN’s Humanitarian Coordinator in Nigeria, Mohammed Fall, confirmed that a joint team from UN agencies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and the Nigerian Red Cross Society had visited the affected area.

The response aims to alleviate the immediate suffering of the displaced and prevent further health crises in the region.
