TINUBU SAYS NIGERIA NOW TOP INVESTMENT DESTINATION
President Bola Tinubu says Nigeria has become a top destination for investment despite ongoing challenges, noting that the economy has picked up with billions of dollars flowing into the hydrocarbons sector.
The President spoke Thursday at the State House while meeting a delegation from the Civil Society Organisation on Community Advancement and Humanitarian Empowerment Initiative, CSCHEI. Vice President Kashim Shettima was also present.
President Tinubu announced that Nigeria’s gas investment has crossed a major hurdle, citing NNPC’s completion of the River Niger crossing of the OB3 Gas Pipeline. The pipeline, laid 2km beneath the riverbed using advanced HDD technology, unlocks a transport capacity of 2 billion scf per day.
He said this will strengthen energy security, boost power generation, and drive industrial growth.
The President also highlighted the Sokoto-Badagry highway project, noting over 75 dams along the corridor can be used for irrigation, technology, and power to improve lives.
On security, Tinubu said efforts are progressing and state police is receiving attention, but stressed it cannot be fixed overnight. He commended CSCHEI for promoting intellectual engagement in governance.
