President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced plans to lay a solid foundation for restructuring Nigeria to foster proper federalism to improve government effectiveness.

President Tinubu made this known during his visit to Akure, the Ondo State capital.

He stressed that restructuring will address equity and justice concerns and will not rush the process.

The President and governors have agreed on setting up state police, but a proper foundation is crucial for the restructuring process.

Tinubu visited Afenifere leader Chief Reuben Fasoranti in Akure and assured that his economic and political reforms will reposition the country.

Fasoranti urged Tinubu to tackle constitutional reforms with courage, fairness, and determination.

Fasoranti also suggested innovative ideas for the Federal Government to carry out reforms across critical sectors, such as fiscal federalism and regional competition.
