UWAJUREN SAYS NIGERIA WILL CRUMBLE UNDER CORRUPTION WITHOUT THE ANTI-GRAFT AGENCY
There is ongoing clamour by some governors that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) be scrapped.
With About 16 governors in court challenging the legality of the establishment of the EFCC,the EFCC spokesman Wilson Uwajuren has defended the agency, saying without the anti-graft commission, Nigeria will crumble under corruption.
Wilson during a monitored interview program said “Nigerians should see through the shenanigan and oppose it because the country cannot survive without the EFCC with many corruption cases in Nigeria.
Uwajuren claimed those behind the challenge are “feeling the heat” of EFCC’s work and do not want to be held accountable.According to him, the establishment of the EFCC is backed by the country’s laws and as such challenging its legality is purely to derail the fight against corruption.
