A controversial incident involving two women locking a crying toddler in an airplane toilet has ignited a heated debate in China about managing children in public spaces.

The incident gained widespread attention after one of the women, Gou Tingting, shared a video online showing herself carrying the girl into the cubicle.In her post, Gou claimed she was trying to help other passengers on the flight, but her actions were met with swift backlash.

The airline later clarified that the toddler’s grandmother had given the women permission to “educate” the child.

This incident has fueled ongoing discussions in China about “bear children” – a term used to describe spoiled young kids who cause disturbances in public places.

The debate has even led some public trains to introduce separate compartments for children to minimize disruptions.
