WHO Launches $135M Plan to Combat Monkeypox Outbreak.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has unveiled a $135 million Strategic Preparedness and Response Plan to curb the human-to-human transmission of Monkeypox (MPOX).

This plan follows the WHO’s declaration of a public health emergency on August 14 and aims to coordinate global, regional, and national efforts over the next six months, from September 2024 to February 2025.

The funding will support member states, including Nigeria, as well as key partners like the Africa CDC.
