FG PAYS N4.25BN TO ADDITIONAL 600 NIGERIA AIRWAYS BENEFICIARIES

‎The Federal Government has paid 4.25 billion naira to an additional 600 beneficiaries of the defunct Nigeria Airways.

The payment covers outstanding pension and severance benefits for batches 10 and 11.

Spokesman of the Federal Ministry of Finance, Efe Ovuakporie, says the latest payment amounts to 4.25 billion naira in gross benefits.

‎He said this brings the total number of beneficiaries paid across 11 batches to 3,300.

‎The first nine batches covered 2,700 beneficiaries, while the latest disbursement adds 600 more.

Ovuakporie says the payment provides financial relief to beneficiaries who have waited years for their entitlements.

‎He says the Ministry’s verification and validation exercise for next of kin of former Nigeria Airways workers is ongoing.

‎He adds that the exercise is to establish eligibility and confirm claims against approved records to facilitate payment.

‎He says the Ministry will continue to process verified claims in line with approved procedures.

He notes that the settlement aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda by resolving longstanding obligations and providing relief to affected families.
