FMBEP MARKS 2026 CUSTOMER SERVICE WEEK

The Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning on Thursday joined the rest of the world to mark 2026 Customer Service Week at the ministry premises in Abuja.

Two staff emerged as best staff for dedication, courtesy and professionalism. They are Mrs Olufunmilayo Adewinle of Human Resource Management Department and Mr Dauda Samson of Information and Communications Department.

‎Permanent Secretary Dr Deborah Odoh urged staff to renew commitment to customer-centred culture by improving processes, reducing delays, embracing technology and strengthening accountability.

‎Odoh, who was represented by Director International Cooperation, Dr Sampson Ebimaro, asked staff to uphold integrity, courtesy, empathy, teamwork and responsiveness.

Guest speaker, Mrs Lucy Zach-Ukoh of Servicom Office in the Presidency, in her paper titled “The Extra Mile” Master Class, urged staff to go the extra mile by showing empathy to vulnerable customers and taking ownership of issues until resolved.

She said the theme captures what modern public service must become – proactive, innovative and committed to exceeding customer expectations.

‎Deputy Director Reform Coordination, Mrs Elizabeth Akpan, said excellent service goes beyond assigned duties but making deliberate efforts to give positive experience to those served.
