PHYSICIAN URGES WOMEN TO PRIORITIZE HEALTH FOR A STRONGER SOCIETY
Family Physician and International Board-Certified Lifestyle Medicine Physician, Dr. Chika Anozie, says women are the foundation of thriving societies, yet their health is often neglected.
Speaking at an International Women’s Day event organized by the Securities and Exchange Commission in Abuja, Dr. Anozie noted that despite the critical roles women play in families and communities, many do not pay adequate attention to their personal health and well-being, which is essential for women to remain productive in the society.
She explained that women face what she described as a triple burden of diseases, including communicable diseases, non-communicable diseases, as well as reproductive and maternal health challenges. According to her, this combination places significant pressure on women’s overall health.
