MAKINDE, LAWAL, RADDA, OTHERS FOR CICAN AWARDS AS ASSOCIATION MARKS 20 YEARS OF IMPACTFUL JOURNALISM
Governors -Seyi Makinde of Oyo, Dauda Lawal of Zamfara and Dikko Radda of Katsina will receive awards for excellence from the Commerce and Industry Correspondents Association of Nigeria.
The awards are part of activities to mark the 20th anniversary of the association.
The event is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2026, at Barcelona Hotel, Abuja. It will start at 10 a.m.
The theme is “FG’s $1 Trillion Economy: Role of Policy Makers, Stakeholders and Media in Its Actualisation.”
Heads of agencies under the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment and other leaders in public and private sectors will also be honoured.
The awards are to recognise their contributions to economic development, industrial growth and trade.
The Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment and the Minister of State are expected at the event.
Regulators, manufacturers, investors and development partners are also expected.
The anniversary committee says the event marks 20 years of CICAN’s work in reporting commerce and industry in Nigeria.
It says the awards will celebrate leadership and policies that have helped Nigeria’s economic growth.
The national dialogue is expected to discuss how government, private sector and media can help Nigeria achieve its $1 trillion economy target.
