
MINISTER OF CREATIVE ECONOMY, HANATU MUSAWA CALLS FOR INCREASED INVESTMENT IN CREATIVE SECTOR
The Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, has called for increased investment in Nigeria’s creative sector. Speaking at the 31st Nigerian Economic Summit, Musawa highlighted the sector’s potential to drive inclusive growth, generate employment, and enhance global competitiveness.
The creative economy currently contributes 2.3% to Nigeria’s GDP and employs over 4.2 million people.
Musawa identified limited access to funding, inadequate infrastructure, and regulatory challenges as major obstacles to the sector’s growth.
She urged financial institutions to develop tailored financial instruments to support creative businesses. The Minister emphasized the need for a supportive regulatory environment that fosters innovation and creativity, assuring stakeholders that the ministry would drive changes to support the industry.
