President Bola Tinubu says Nigeria is committed to contributing to global efforts aimed at mitigating climate impacts and promoting sustainable development in Small Island Developing States.
Tinubu made this known at the ongoing Fourth Nations International Conference on SIDS (Small Island Developing States) in Antigua and Barbuda, with the theme, ‘Charting the course toward resilient prosperity.
Tinubu emphasized the importance of innovative adaptation strategies and robust international support to enhance resilience in these vulnerable islands.
He also highlighted the potential of SIDS to take a lead role in defining sustainability models and human well-being while transitioning towards a green economy.
President Bola Tinubu also called for strengthening regional cooperation among SIDS and fostering partnerships with larger economies to drive innovative solutions and share best practices.
