‎BOI HOLDS 2026 ANNUAL LECTURE IN ABUJA

The Bank of Industry says its mandate is to drive sustainable and inclusive industrial development in Nigeria.

 

The Managing Director of the Bank Olasupo Olusi made this known at the Bank of Industry 2026 Annual Public Lecture in Abuja.

 

He said Nigeria needs long-term capital to support industrial growth and reach small businesses that lack access to finance.

 

Reeling out the figures,He said the bank disbursed 645 billion naira in 2025.

 

He said the money supported more than 12,000 businesses and created 1.68 million jobs.

 

‎According to Olasupo,the bank will continue to mobilize more capital and attract private investment into productive sector.

 

‎He said he looks forward to discussions on how to deploy development capital effectively in Nigeria

 

Meanwhile,The lecture is the third edition. The bank started the lecture in 2024 to discuss issues affecting Nigeria’s economic and industrial growth.

 

‎This year’s theme is “Rethinking Capital for Inclusive Economic Transformation.”

 

The guest lecturer for this year is Dr. Asad Alam, former director at the World Bank and adjunct professor at Georgetown University.
